This is Cage Match #2.  Donald Trump again, who won Cage Match #1 vs. Bernie Sanders, vs. Ted Cruz.  Some would say this is a “faux” conservative, a.k.a. the Donald, vs. a real conservative, Ted Cruz.  It’s been interesting to note that as Trump has risen in the polls from a presumed fake candidate to a real one to the leading candidate now going into the first debate, Ted Cruz is about the only other candidate who has not mercilessly attacked Trump in the media.  Cruz has provided some support for Trump’s positions and seems to have been careful about not blasting Trump with both barrels.  Cruz has also been raising a lot of money from conservatives, leading to some speculation that they might be working together in some fashion.  Trump-Cruz 2016?

But that’s not what Cage Match is all about.  Here we are putting these two men in the Cage and only one gets out.  So let’s have a look at the matchup.

We provided the background details on Donald Trump in our first Cage Match article.

Let’s just say he’s a billionaire who is outspoken and has taken heat for his bombastic style and conservative policy prescriptions thus far (e.g., build a big wall and make Mexico pay for it).

He has a new book out.

And here is some background info on Ted Cruz.

But who would win in a Cage Match?  The Donald is richer and brasher, but Ted Cruz is wicked smart.  Famed Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz named Cruz as one of the smartest students he ever taught.

This a tough one, but we think in the end Donald would say “You’re hired” and give his support to Cruz for President.
