Figo is a Golden Retriever service dog. He and his blind owner, Audrey Stone, were crossing the street in Brewster, NY when a school bus came down the street. The bus driver claims he did not see them crossing. Figo saw the threat and jumped in front of Audrey, absorbing most of the impact from the bus. Both Figo and Audrey were injured but survived the accident and are now recovering. No one on the bus was injured.

Figo is being recognized as a hero service dog for saving the life of his owner. At the scene of the accident, despite being gravely injured, Figo would not leave Audrey’s side until they were both taken to hospitals for treatment by responders to the accident scene.
