A manned flight to Mars? Meh. Near-light-speed propulsion? Boring!
What should rocket scientists really be working on?
According to former SpaceX exec Dolly Singh, the real problem plaguing humankind is uncomfortable shoes. Specifically, high heels, stilettos, and the like. So she started a company called Thesis Couture and pulled together a teams of engineers and rocket scientists to solve the problem and to create comfortable high heels. She calls her soon-to-be-available creation “the world’s first high-performance stiletto.”
The shoes aren’t yet available to buy, but when they are, they will set you back around $1000. No word if Singh plans to re-engineer Crocs next.
