The world’s tiniest deer is the pudu. And the Queens Zoo in New York has got themselves the tiniest of the tiny. This little guy was born less than a month ago and he’s only 6″ tall and weighs less than your purse: just one pound. He’s still on a liquid diet, but soon he’l be chomping on a healthy diet of leaves, grain, kale, carrots, and hay.
Pudu are a weird subspecies of the South American deer and are generally solitary animals. If you scare them, they bark. If you piss them off, they shiver. Hopefully this adorable little fawn won’t experience either of those reactions.
